About the role
Reporting into the Health, Safety and Training Superintendent this position supports the business to ensure a healthy, safe and environmentally compliant workplace through strong stakeholder relationships and the application of procedures, environmental and legal compliance, initiatives, monitoring, auditing and education. Key responsibilities
Champion a proactive safety culture across all sites.
Actively promote, communicate and educate stakeholders about health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and standards.
Promote and maintain incident prevention initiatives and systems to drive risk reduction.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.
Contribute to operational and safety meetings, communicating key health, safety and environmental messaging and information.
Support and oversee safety incident investigations.
Essential skills and experience
Tertiary qualification or experience in the disciplines of health and safety, environment or a similar field.
Good understanding of Work Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation.
Working knowledge of acts, regulations, codes of practice and standards.
Operating knowledge of Heavy Plant & Equipment, or environmental monitoring equipment.
Excellent attention to detail is a must.
Must be self-motivated with the ability to handle, organise and prioritise multiple tasks and able to perform under pressure to meet deadlines, where required.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
