Townsville Logistics and Townsville Marine Logistics has a vacancy for a Financial Accountant to join our innovative business and diverse team.  This exciting opportunity has become available due to the continued growth of the company group.

Townsville Logistics (TL) is a dynamic and evolving company, providing transport and logistics services, primarily loading, movement and unloading of materials, within the mining and refinery industry and associated mobile maintenance.

Townsville Marine Logistics (TML) is a customer-focused stevedoring and logistics provider with clients in mining and port operations. TML is a niche operator, handling multiple cargoes from containers to bulk and break bulk, and freight forwarding with a fresh approach to operations. 

We are a collaborative and dynamic team that prides ourselves on being customer driven with strong community connections in Townsville region.

Job Description

About the position

Due to the continued growth of the business, this unique role presents itself in a fast paced, dynamic environment that continues to thrive. Reporting to the Manager – Finance and Administration, you will be responsible for assisting in a small team in meeting its reporting and planning requirements which include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to shape our financial future.
  • Lead financial reporting with accuracy and insight.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of financial models to support budgeting and forecasting requirements.
  • Coordinate the production of reports and statements (including those required from a regulatory perspective) using financial and non-financial data.
  • Ensure the completion of various period end financial processes as required e.g. month end close, billing, invoicing, transfers, journals.
  • Assist in delivering audit processes for half year, hard close and year end and coordinate and assist with preparation of analyst packs and product reporting for half year and year end as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of tendering models and analysis.
  • Actively promote our values, including high safety and environmental performance

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in a finance related discipline (Mandatory).
  • CA/CPA membership, partially completed or motivated to commence.
  • Experience in a similar financial support role.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written. 
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Motivated to continually assist with the improvement processes.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to thrive in an accelerated environment.
