About the role

Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, this role will coordinate the preventative & corrective maintenance activities on fixed overhead cranes, Hoists and monorails..  You will Manage the inspection, testing and overhauling of fixed cranes, hoists, and monorails by liaising with external resources to ensure integrity of the equipment and to maximise ongoing reliability of plant  through safe and efficient practices. 

You will develop, implement and continue to improve the site's maintenance program, which includes preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance activities and associated documentation.  Through activities ranging across integrity, reliability, condition monitoring, lubrication, modifications, installations and inventory management, you will provide practical input into operations/maintenance teams to optimise process performance with a strong focus on life cycle asset management.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

With your Trade Certificate (Cert III Engineering, either electrical or mechanical) and strong focus and commitment to safety, you will have gained experience in minerals processing operations or similar heavy industry. You are able to execute both planned and breakdown maintenance on  overhead cranes, hoists, jibs and monorails.

Your strong work ethic and problem-solving skills allow you to work autonomously with limited supervision, or when required, as part of a team.  You can safely and effectively plan your workload and have a can-do attitude.

Other desirable, however not essential, skills and experience include: 

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and CMMS (JDE, Oracle or SAP).
  • Post trade welding competencies and experience, (MMAW). 
  • Experience in maintaining fixed overhead crane hoists, jibs and monorails.
  • Current High Risk Work Licences such as Forklift (LF), Cabin Gantry Crane (CB), Elevated Work Platform (WP), remote Gantry Crane (LBG), Confined Space, Working at Heights, Dogging and Rigging.
